What is a flue rain cap for on a diesel heater?

A flue rain cap is the outdoor end of a flue that protects the outlet from rain and snow. Our 110 mm rain cap fits the Toolsa TA-DV20, TA-DV30 and TA-DV50 indirect diesel heaters. It finishes a flue made of the 110 mm × 1 m flue pipe and the 114 mm 90° elbow, so precipitation does not get into the exhaust outlet.

How does a flue differ from flexible ducting on a heater?

A flue and flexible ducting carry two different flows: the flue takes exhaust outside, while the flexible duct delivers heated air from the heater outlet to where it is needed. On Toolsa TA-DV heaters the flue uses a 110 mm pipe and rain cap with a 114 mm elbow, whereas flexible ducting comes in 250 mm and 300 mm diameters, 10 m long. The 250 mm duct fits the TA-DV20 and TA-DV30, the 300 mm duct the TA-DV50.

How much fuel does a flued Toolsa diesel heater use?

The Toolsa indirect diesel heaters that take the 110 mm rain cap burn between 1.9 and 4.6 l of fuel per hour. The 20 kW TA-DV20 uses 1.9 l/h and has a 38 l tank, the 30 kW TA-DV30 uses 2.9 l/h with a 50 l tank, and the 50 kW TA-DV50 uses 4.6 l/h, also with a 50 l tank.

Will the Toolsa rain cap fit flues on other heaters?

The Toolsa 110 mm rain cap is confirmed to fit the flue of our TA-DV20, TA-DV30 and TA-DV50 heaters, rated from 20 to 50 kW. For a flue from another brand, first check the diameter of its end section and compare it with 110 mm. Whether it fits another manufacturer's heater depends on that manufacturer's data, not on matching dimensions alone.
