Description

TSC-150 Cutter Drum — Genuine Toolsa Spare Part

In the TSC-150 the drum is an assembly designed to be replaced: the end plates hold four Ø12 × 223 mm shafts carrying 68 loosely threaded cutters. The whole assembly leaves the machine in one piece and goes back the same way — which is why we ship it armed rather than as a bare body for you to build up.

Why four shafts across 200 mm

The TSC-150 drives its drum with a 2.2 kW electric motor from a 230 V socket. We matched four Ø12 mm shafts to that torque: denser armament would cost the machine its ability to hold speed in hard concrete, sparser armament would spoil the texture. At 17 cutters per shaft the machine sustains 3 mm of removal per pass across a 200 mm path.

The cutter is meant to turn

Cutters are not rigidly fixed — they sit loose on the shaft, separated by spacer washers. Every strike against the surface rotates them by a small angle, so the cutting edge wears around its whole circumference. A jammed cutter works one point and loses its shape several times faster, which is why keeping the drum clear translates directly into its service life.

The dimensions are model-specific

The 12 mm shaft diameter and the seat spacing in the end plates belong to the TSC-150. The TSC-200 uses Ø15 mm shafts in a six-shaft layout, and the TSC-250 uses Ø18 mm across 250 mm. Drums do not transfer between models.

Extraction is part of the system, not an accessory

The 38 mm port on the TSC-150 clears debris from under the drum while it cuts. Without a connected vacuum cleaner material builds up between the cutters and blocks their rotation — the machine still cuts, but the armament wears unevenly and much faster. Extraction therefore also protects the drum.

The TSC-150 drum in the Toolsa range

We ship the drum complete: four shafts, 68 cutters and the spacer washers, ready to fit into the machine. The remaining wearing parts for our scarifiers are in the scarifier drums and cutters category.

Questions and answers

Which scarifier model does the TSC-150 drum fit?

The drum is intended for the Toolsa TSC-150 scarifier alone, with its 200 mm working width and 2.2 kW motor. Two dimensions are binding: a shaft diameter of 12 mm and a length of 223 mm, together with the four-seat layout in the end plates. The machine model is stamped on the rating plate.

How many cutters are included?

The set contains 68 cutters, 17 on each of the four shafts, together with the spacer washers that hold the spacing. We ship the drum armed, so it goes straight into the machine once unpacked. This armament covers a 200 mm working width.

How do I recognise a worn drum?

The machine stops reaching 3 mm of removal per pass at the same height setting, and the floor comes out in visible bands. With the drum off, check two things: whether the cutters still turn by finger on the shaft, and whether the shafts have play in the end-plate seats. Either symptom marks the end of the assembly's service life.

Can the TSC-150, TSC-200 and TSC-250 drums be used interchangeably?

There is no interchangeability between them. The TSC-150 uses four Ø12 mm shafts and 68 cutters across 200 mm, the TSC-200 six Ø15 mm shafts and 72 cutters across 200 mm, and the TSC-250 six Ø18 mm shafts and 90 cutters across 250 mm. Both the shaft diameter and the end-plate geometry differ.

Can I buy cutters alone instead of the drum?

Cutters alone make sense when a few pieces are damaged, for instance after striking rebar. When the whole armament is worn, re-threading 68 cutters and their spacers onto four shafts takes longer than swapping the assembly, and the worn shafts stay in the machine and keep spoiling the texture.

What work is a scarifier with this drum intended for?

Fully armed, the TSC-150 removes up to 3 mm per pass over a 200 mm path, which covers stripping resin coatings, carpet adhesives, laitance and road markings. Its 230 V supply and 67 kg mass place it indoors — on refurbishments and in workshops.
