Description
Toolsa vacuum base plate – anchor-free mounting for drill stands
Our vacuum base plate holds a core drill stand to the surface by vacuum, with no anchor hole to drill. We make it in two versions: round, 36 cm in diameter, and rectangular, 43 × 33.5 cm. It fits our own stands as well as core drill stands from many other brands. The photos show the dimensions of both versions, so you can check the fit by comparing them with the base of your stand.
How the plate holds
A vacuum pump draws the air out from under the plate through a brass fitting, and the seal on the underside closes the chamber. The stand is bolted on through the mounting hole in the centre of the plate. The hold lasts as long as the pump runs, and once air is let back in you lift the plate off without tools and move it to the next hole.
Two versions for different bases
The round version, 36 cm in diameter, has a smooth top and a central mounting hole. The rectangular version, 43 × 33.5 cm, has two carrying handles and four adjusting screws in the corners. The dimension photos also give the distances from the mounting hole to the edges of the plate.
Surface and safety
The plate needs a smooth, flat and airtight surface: trowelled or ground concrete, tiles or stone. On plaster, brick and porous concrete, fix the stand with an anchor. We do not use the plate on ceilings, because a pump power cut means losing the hold above the operator's head.
The matching pump
We designed the plate to work with our VP 120 vacuum pump. It delivers 120 l/min and reaches a vacuum of up to -0.8 bar, and its gauge and release valve let you monitor the hold and free the plate quickly.
Complete your drilling setup

Questions and answers
Does the Toolsa vacuum plate fit stands from other brands?
We designed the plate to work not only with our own stands but also with core drill stands from many other manufacturers. The easiest way to check the fit is the dimension photos: the round version is 36 cm in diameter and the rectangular one measures 43 × 33.5 cm. Compare these dimensions with the base of your stand and make sure the plate's mounting hole lines up with the hole in the stand foot. If in doubt, send us a message with your stand model.
Which plate should I choose: round or rectangular?
The choice depends on the shape of your stand base. The round version, 36 cm in diameter, has a smooth top and a central mounting hole, so it suits stands with a compact foot. The rectangular version, 43 × 33.5 cm, has two carrying handles and four adjusting screws in the corners, and its shape matches elongated bases. Both work on the same principle and have a brass fitting for the pump hose.
Which pump works with the Toolsa vacuum plate?
The plate works only with a vacuum pump running for the whole drilling job. We designed it to pair with our VP 120 vacuum pump, which delivers 120 l/min and reaches a vacuum of up to -0.8 bar. The gauge on the pump shows the vacuum level, so you see a leak straight away, and the release valve lets you free the plate quickly after work.
On what surfaces can the vacuum plate be used?
The plate holds on smooth, flat and airtight surfaces: trowelled or ground concrete, ceramic tiles and stone. The surface must be clean and free of cracks, because any gap under the seal lets air in and weakens the hold. On plaster, brick, aerated concrete and porous concrete, vacuum mounting does not hold reliably, so there the stand is fixed with an anchor, usually M12.
Can the vacuum plate be used on walls and ceilings?
On walls the plate works on a smooth, airtight surface such as fair-faced concrete or tiles. In that case also secure the stand with a chain or strap, because a loss of vacuum releases the stand together with the motor and core bit. We do not use the vacuum plate on ceilings, because a pump power cut means an instant loss of hold above the operator's head. For drilling slabs from below, use an anchor.
